Shoshone Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. 

Inpatient care provided 7 days a week. 

Outpatient services offered Monday – Friday in Smelterville: 8:00 am – 5:15pm

Outpatient services include:

Physical Therapy – Helps patients improve mobility, strength, movement, and overall function following a surgery, injury, or episode of pain.

Occupational Therapy – Utilizes functional and meaningful tasks such as self-care, homemaking, and leisure activities to improve physical and psychological functioning.

Speech Therapy – Evaluates and treats children and adults who have difficulty with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive function.

Vestibular rehabilitation – Specialized care for treatment of dizziness, disequilibrium, vertigo, and balance problems.

Pediatric Speech and Occupational Therapy – Helps children reach developmental milestones and learn skills that improve their daily lives and social interaction.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy — Specialized physical therapy treatment for female and male incontinence, pelvic pain, pre and postpartum issues, sexual dysfunction, and pelvic organ prolapse.

Hand Therapy – Treatment for the upper extremity focusing on post-operative rehabilitation and preventative, non-operative or conservative treatment or industry consultation.

Emma Marlow

Emma Marlow, DPT, OCS, GCS

After graduating with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2015, Emma began working at Shoshone Medical Center.  She assumed the role of department manager at the beginning of 2025.  During her years at SMC, she has achieved specialization in orthopedics, geriatrics, vestibular rehabilitation, and pelvic floor therapy.   She is a certified dry needling practitioner.  She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients in the outpatient and inpatient setting, across the lifespan, and from all walks of life.  Her role as a healthcare provider in the Silver Vally has always been meaningful and rewarding.  When not at work, Emma enjoys the quiet and adventure afforded her by the surrounding mountains, rivers, lakes, and backroads.

Adrianna Vest

Adrianna Vest, PTA

Adrianne grew up on the beaches of Florida and later moved to the mountains of Colorado, where she met her husband. In 2015 they relocated to Kellogg, Idaho where they enjoy raising their two children and taking full advantage of the beautiful outdoors. Adrianne loves kayaking and biking in the summer and hitting the slopes in the winter with her family.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, Adrianne is passionate about helping people move and feel their best. She values building genuine connections with her patients and takes pride in supporting them through each stage of their rehabilitation. Her goal is to help every patient return to the activities they love with confidence and independence.

Morgan Ahrens

Morgan Ahrens, PTA

Morgan is a compassionate and dedicated PTA who joined our team after recently graduating from North Idaho College in May 2025. Originally from Colorado, Morgan moved to North Idaho to pursue her passion for physical therapy. With backgrounds ranging from acute care to athletic training, she brings a wide variety of experience to SMC. Morgan’s background in sports fostered her respect for the body’s capabilities, inspiring her to help others regain confidence through movement, achieve their goals, and improve their quality of life. Guided by the mantra “do no harm,” Morgan values trust and individualized, sincere care. Outside of work, she enjoys mountain climbing, making music, road trips, photography, and all things outdoors.

Glenn Notsch, PTA

Glenn Notsch, PTA

Glenn has been a PTA for fourteen years. Born and raised in central Minnesota, then lived many years in metropolitan Phoenix and currently reside in Plains, Montana.  He is married and has two grandchildren. Activities he enjoys are hiking, lifting weights, hunting and watching movies, especially “older” ones; and his current interest is to try and learn some Spanish.  He is looking forward to meeting new people, learning new treatment methods and helping the people in the nearby communities improve their lives.

Sean Curran, MS CCC-SLP

Sean Curran has been serving the Valley since 1994.  He has been conducting speech language pathology at Shoshone Medical Center since 1998.  He has experience practicing in a variety of settings including schools, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and hospitals.

Sarah Ash

Sara Ash, OT

Sara moved to the Silver Valley 5 years ago and completed her Masters of Occupational Therapy degree at Eastern Washington University in 2024.  After working over 10 years as a mining geologist both in American and overseas, she wanted to change careers to be more people focused and add a different kind of value to the community.   Sara enjoys working with patients to help them restore functionality in tasks that they need and want to participate in. In addition to working, she sits on the board of the Shoshone County Mining and Smelting Museum as well as taking shifts caring for the pound pups with Shoshone Pet Rescue. Animals, travel and outdoor adventures fill Sara’s time when she is not working or volunteering.

Amber Weingart, OT

Amber Weingart, OT

Amber achieved a Master of Occupational Therapy from Eastern Washington University (2023). She served eight years on active duty in the U.S. Navy as a photojournalist where she met her Idahoan husband. She continues to serve in the Navy Reserves. She has completed an occupational therapy course in pelvic health, is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), and ACE registered health coach. Her clinical interests include upper extremity rehabilitation, pediatrics, infant feeding and development, and women’s health, with a strong focus on overall wellness. As a mother of two she values a supportive, family-centered approach. When not working, you can find her attempting to do homesteading things and spending time outdoors around beautiful North Idaho with her family.
